Word Search Helps You Practice

by Michael

Most of us do not like to practice. It takes time and its not that much fun. However to get good at anything requires practice.

A word search is practice, competition and reward built into a single exercise. You get a list of words that you need to complete, sometimes within a certain amount of time.

The practice comes from the hundreds of times that your brain attempts to spell and respell the words in the list. We are focused on matching the patterns in different directions. We are happy when we get a word and a little disappointed when we have to start all over.

We usually compete against a friend to see who can find the most words or compete against the clock to see who can finish first. When we are finished we might help each other complete the word search

The word search can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour depending on the number of words to find and the size of the grid. That is a lot of practice on locating a set of words

Older students can probably think of alot of other things they could rather be doing than completing a word search for a grade. That is why this site was created. Hope it helps!
